FCSO Arrests Suspect In Child Death
SUBJECT: Jerrod Lee Brown, age 26, of 3614 E. Winlark Drive, Florence, SC 29506 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on November 25, 2014 and charged with Homicide by Child Abuse (S.C. Code Section 16-03-085(A)(1)) and Unlawful Neglect of a Child or Helpless Person (S. C. Code Section 63-05-070). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.
NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office were called to an area hospital on Sunday, November 23, 2014 following a report of the death of a one year old child. Following an investigation into the facts and circumstances of the death, and in cooperation with the Florence County Coroner’s Office, FCSO Investigators have charged Jerrod Lee Brown, the father of the child with Homicide by Child Abuse and Unlawful Neglect of a Child or Helpless Person. According to Investigators, Brown is alleged to have inflicted physical injuries on the child resulting in death.
Brown will be held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a circuit court judge.
