NARRATIVE: Specially trained narcotics officers with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects on June 10, 2015 and charged them with Solicitation of Prostitution. Following receipt of complaints of prostitution from area businesses, deputies conducted the sting operation at a hotel located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 and I-95. According to deputies, an undercover officer posed as a prostitute on an internet website frequently used for solicitation of prostitution. The suspects then allegedly replied to the undercover officer and made arrangements to meet at the specified location to exchange money for a sex act. After arriving at the location and confirming the arrangement, the suspects were immediately taken into custody.

Under South Carolina law, first offense Solicitation of Prostitution is a misdemeanor which carries a penalty of a fine of up to $250.00 or 30 days in jail, or both.
