FCSO INVESTIGATES DARLINGTON COUNTY SHOOTING
Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the officer involved shooting of a suspect in Darlington County at the request of the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting occurred earlier today sometime before noon near Highpoint Road, Hartsville, SC. According to FCSO Investigators, the incident involved a suspect wanted out of North Carolina for a double homicide. The suspect was being pursued on foot by both Agents with SLED and Deputies with Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the shooting. The suspect is believed to have received a single gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The injuries to the suspect are not believed to be life threatening. Neither of the involved officers was injured.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and no further information is available at this time.
