FCSO DISCOVERS METH LAB IN OPERATION

SUBJECT: Brandon Shawn Tedder, age 25, of 1101 Fran Drive, Florence, SC was arrested by Narcotics Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on February 3, 2016 and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine (S.C. Code Ann. 44-53-375(B)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

NARRATIVE: Shortly after 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, Specially Trained Narcotics Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for assistance from agents with the South Carolina Department of Probation and Parole at 1101 Fran Drive, Florence, SC. Upon arrival at the location, agents discovered what appeared to be a methamphetamine production laboratory commonly referred to as a “One Pot Lab” which was operational and “cooking” at the time. According to FCSO Narcotics Investigators, the particular stage of the process in which the lab was discovered was highly volatile and dangerous and had to be made safe for further investigation following a strictly mandated protocol involving fire and EMS responders. In addition, a specialized team from SLED was called to dispose of the extremely hazardous and toxic waste material in the residence. Florence County EMS and the Wendy Hill Fire Department assisted in the operation.

Investigators arrested Brandon Shawn Tedder at the scene and charged him with Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Tedder will likely appear later today at a bond hearing before a Florence County magistrate. Under South Carolina law, Manufacturing Methamphetamine is felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison or up to a $25,000.00 fine, or both.
