FCSO IDENTIFIES SUSPECT IN PAMPLICO SHOOTING


Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have identified and are searching for a suspect in connection with the October 1, 2017 shooting in Pamplico, SC. Investigators have obtained arrest warrants for Zafir Abdul Bethea, age 22, of 715 Harden Road, Pamplico, SC 29583 and have charged him with Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-010) and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490). Investigators allege that Bethea used a firearm to fatally shot the victim on Main Street in Pamplico, SC yesterday.

Bethea is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes (see attached photographs). Bethea is to be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
