FCSO ARRESTS SUSPECT INVOLVED IN SHOOTING
SUBJECT: Maurice Durant, age 37, of 691 C.C. Road, Lynchburg, SC was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on January 20, 2019 and charged with one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
NARRATIVE: Florence County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a shooting incident on Friday, January 19, 2019 at approximately 10:42 P.M. on Candy Lane in Florence County. Upon arriving, deputies were informed that the victim had been shot and transported to an area hospital by private vehicle. Witnesses indicated that the incident occurred following a verbal dispute during a family gathering. After interviewing witnesses at the scene, Investigators located Maurice Durant in Lynchburg, SC and charged him with one count of Attempted Murder. No additional information on the condition of the victim is available at this time, although the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Durant is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 surety bond. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
