Florence County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of Captain Wayne A. Howard (Retired) on May 3, 2022. Howard served the citizens of Florence County as a law enforcement officer for over 40 years, but will be most remembered for his commitment and dedication to improving the lives of children of this community through Camp Pee Dee Pride, in which he was a driving force.
“The number of young lives Wayne positively impacted through Camp Pee Dee Pride and Wounded Warriors over the years is immeasurable,” Sheriff TJ Joye stated. “He will be missed, but his legacy of service to this community will not be forgotten.”
