FCSO Deputies Arrests Suspect For Attempted Murder
SUBJECT: Andre Brockington Durant, age 26, of 412 Warley Street, Florence, SC 29505 was arrested on June 23, 2014 by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Section 16-03-029). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andre Brockington Durant on June 23, 2014 and charged him with Attempted Murder in the June 14, 2014 shooting at a night club located at 1101 Hamlet Street in Florence, SC. According to Investigators, Durant, the victim and other patrons of the club became involved in physical altercation in the parking lot when Durant allegedly retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and shot at the victim, striking the victim once in the arm. The victim was treated at an area hospital for the gunshot wound and was released.
Durant’s arrest was accomplished by the FCSO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team due to his extensive violent criminal history. Durant is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $30,000.00 surety bond. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
Under South Carolina law, Attempted Murder is a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison, no portion of which may be suspended.
